2x+6y=7- (2)
multiply equation first by 2 and second by 1
X + 3 Y = 2. *2
2 X + 6y= 7 . *1
by solving it we get
2 X + 12 Y = 4
2 X + 6 Y = 7
by elimination method
we get y = -1/2
putting the value of y in to second equation
we get x=5.
