elimination method
(x + y = 5 ) * 2
2x + 2y = 10.....(1)
2X - 3y = 4......(2)
subtract 1 & 2
you will get,
5y = 6
y = 6/5
substitute y in (1)
2x + 2(6/5) = 10
10X + 12 = 50
10 X = 50 - 12
10X = 38
x = 38/10= 19/5
(x + y = 5 ) * 2
2x + 2y = 10.....(1)
2X - 3y = 4......(2)
subtract 1 & 2
you will get,
5y = 6
y = 6/5
substitute y in (1)
2x + 2(6/5) = 10
10X + 12 = 50
10 X = 50 - 12
10X = 38
x = 38/10= 19/5
