Answer:

y=2x - 4

3x+y=11

3x+(2x-4)=11. (equation 1)

3x+2x-4=11

6x=7

x=7/6

y=2×7/6-4

=7/3-4

=7-12/3

=-5/3

Answer:

y = 2x-4 and 3x+y = 11

-2x+y = -4 ---------(1)

3x+y = 11 --------(2)

subtract (1) & (2)

-2x+y = -4

3x+y = 11

-. -. -

_______

x = -15

put x = -15 in (2)

3(-15)+y = 11

-45+y = 11

y = 11+45

y = 56

(x,y) = (-15,56)
