Answer:

2y-3/4+3y-1/2=y+1/4

cross multiply

2(2y-3) + 4(3y - 1) divided by 8

(4y -6 +12 -4) divided by 8

=(4y-2)/8

=y-2/2 = y+1/4

so cross multiply

= 4(y-2) = 2(y+1)

so 4y-8 =  2y+2

so, 4y and 2y gets cancelled

2y -8 = 2

2y = 2+8          (-8 taken to another side then -8 becomes +8 )

so, 2y= 10

y = 10/2 ( here 2 is in multiply if we take it to the another side so it will become 1/2 and 1/2 multiply by 10 = 10/2

y = 5
