4x+ y= 3

y= 3- 4x.....(i)

x- y= 7......(ii)

Substituting the value of (i) in (ii);

x- (3- 4x)= 7

x- 3+ 4x= 7

5x= 7+3

x= 10/ 5

x=2

Now putting the value of x in (i);

y= 3- (4×2)

y= 3- 8

y= -5

Hope that helps u..
