5x + 3y = 9 _____(eqn 1)

2x - 3y = 12 ______(eqn 2)

Adding eqn 1 and 2, we get,

7x = 21

x = 21 / 7 = 3

Putting value of x, in eqn 2,

6 - 3y = 12

6 - 12 = 3y

3y = -6

y = -2

Therefore, (x,y) = (3,-2)
