hi mate

here is your answer

5x +  \frac{9}{2}  =   \frac{5}{2}  \times ( - 8)

\frac{10x + 9 }{2}  =  \frac{ - 40}{2}

10x + 9 =  - 40

10x =   - 49

x =  - 4.9

hope it helped

Solution:

5x - \frac{9}{2}= \frac{5}{2}x \:  - 8

5x -  \frac{5}{2}x =  - 8 -  \frac{9}{2}

 \frac{10x - 5x}{2} =  \frac{ - 16 - 9}{2}

10x - 5x =  - 16 - 9

5x =  - 25

x =  \frac{ - 25}{5}

x =  - 5
