Solution:

We know that,

a^{log a^{N}} = N

Now,

2^{log 2^{x}}+5^{log 5^{y}}=4

=> x + y = 4 ---(1)

Similarly ,

x-y = 2 -----(2)

Add (1) & (2) , we get

=> 2x = 2

=> x = 2/2 = 1

put x = 1 in equation (1), we get

=> 1 + y = 4

=> y = 4 - 1

=> y = 3

Therefore,

x = 1 , y = 3
