Answer:

x = 2 , y = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

3x + 2y = 8 -------- 1

2x - 3y = 1 --------- 2

Multiply 1 equation by 3 and 2 equation by 2

3 ( 3x + 2y = 8 )

9x + 6y = 24 ------- 3

2 ( 2x - 3y = 1 )

4x - 6y = 2 -------4

Adding 3 and 4 equation

9x + 6y = 24 -------- 3

4x - 6y = 2 --------- 4

_________

13x = 26

x = 26 ÷ 13

x = 2

substituting x = 2 in 1 equation

3x + 2y = 8 -------- 1

3 × 2 + 2y = 8

6 + 2y = 8

2y = 8 - 6

2y = 2

y = 2 ÷ 2

y = 1
