now,substituting equation no1 in equation2

2x-3y=12

2(-1-2y)-3y=12

-2-4y-3y=12

7y=12+2

7y=14

y=2

substituting y=2 in equation (2)

2x-3y=12

2x-3(2)=12

2x-6=12

2x=12+6

2x=20

x=10
