Solve the Following.

1. Calculate the kinetic energy of a ball of mass 100g going with a speed of 20 m/s.

2. A stone of mass 500g is raised from a height of 2m to 4m. Find the change in its

KE=(1/2)MV^2

KE= Kinetic Energy

M=Mass

V=Velocity

We know that Gravity would be the Velocity in this case, and gravity would be G, so we already know the Velocity in this case. We wouldn’t need to solve for it.

We could use the following equation, PE=mgh.

PE=Potential Energy

M=mass

G=Gravity

H=height.

So if we were to substitute the information, we would get:

Potential Energy= (20 kg)*(9.81 m/s^2)*(10 meters).

This would give us 1962 Jouls.
