Solve the following:
1. The weight of a container filled with rice is 31.45 kg and the
weight of rice contained in the container is 26.5 kg. What is the
weight of the empty container?
2. Three boxes weigh 17.5 kg, 21.25 kg and 39.7 kg respectively.
What is the weight of these boxes in all?
3. A triathlon of 6 km was arranged. A participant ran 3 km, cycled 2
km 200 m and swam the remaining distance. Find the distance the
participant swam.

1) the weight of the empty container= 31.45-26.5=4.95

the weight of the container is 4.95 kgs

2)the weight of all the boxes=17.5+21.25+39.7=78.74

the weight of the container is 78.74

3)The swimming distance=6km-3km+2km200m=6km-5km200m=800m

the swimming distance is 800m
