Answer:

 \frac{y - 7}{3}  - 1 = 0

 \frac{y - 7 - 3}{3}   = 0

y-10=0

y = 10

4(x+1)=4

4x +4 = 4

4x =4-4

 (a) \: \frac{y - 7}{3}  - 1 = 0 \\  =  >  \frac{y - 7}{3}  =1 \\  =  > y - 7 = 3 \\  =  > y = 3 + 7 = 10 \\ (b) \: 4(x + 1) = 4 \\  = 4x + 4 = 4 \\  =  > 4x = 4  - 4 \\  =  > 4x = 0 \\  =  > x =  \frac{0}{4}  \\  =  > x = 0

Hope it helps.....
