let the edge of cube be a

surface area of cube = 6a^2

if the edge is doubled it will be 2a

then

a becomes 2a sub in surface area

6× 2a ^2

24a^2

To find how much it increases divide its surface area by found value

6a^2 / 24a^2 = 4

Hence it increase by 4 times
