Using Pythagoras theorem :

PQ square + QR square = PR Square

8^2 + 6^2= PR^2

64+36 = PR^2

100 = PR^2

PR =√100

PR = 10 cm

Now using the area

1) area of ∆PQR = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 × 6×8 = 24cm^22

now area of ∆QRP = 1/2× base× height

= 1/2×10×QS = 5QS

Now as area of ∆PQR = area of ∆QRP

24 = 5Qs

24/5 = QS

4.8 cm = QS
