3x+ y = 9                eq. 1

5x+ 3y = 7              eq.2

multiplying eq. 1 with 3

9x+ 3y = 27        eq. 3

5x+ 3y = 7          eq. 4

subtracting eq. 4 and eq.3

- 4x = -20

x = 20/4 = 5

put this value of x in eq. 1

3* 5 + y = 9

15 + y = 9

y = 9 - 15 = -6

therefore the value of x+ y

is 5 - 6 = -1

\huge{\bold{\pink{SOLUTION}}}

3x+5y=9
5x+3y=7

3x+5y=9......×3
5x+3y=7.....×5

9x+15y =27
25x+15y=35
------------------

Subtracting equation 1 from 2

16x=8
x=8/16
x=1/2

putting value of x in equation 1

3×1/2 +5y=9

5y=9 -3/2

y= 1/5×(15/2)

y=3/2

So
x+y= 1/2 +3/2
= 4/2
=2
