15/4-7x=9
-7x=9-15/4
-7x=21/4
X=-3/4

X/3+5/2=-3/2
X/3=-3/2-5/2
X/3=-4
X=-12

2y+9=4

2y=-5
Y=-5/2

Answer:

1)  x = -3/4,  2)  X = -12   3) Y= -5/2

Step-by-step explanation:

The question can be easily solved by solving for x

1) 15/4-7x=9

take 15/4 on the right hand side, so the sign changes from + to -

-7x=9-15/4

-7x=21/4

7x = -21/4

or, x = -3/4

2) X/3+5/2= - 3/2

subtract 5/2 from both side of the equation

X/3= -3/2-5/2

x/3 = -8/2

X/3= -4

X = -12

2y+9=4

Subtract 9 from both side of the equation

2y= -5

Y= -5/2

To verify it put the answer on the respective equation.
