1. Two coins are tossed. Find probability that at least one head turns up.

Solution:

Here, two coins are tossed.

S = { HH, HT, TH, TT }

n (S) = 4

Consider Event A says that at least one head turns up.

A = { HH, HT, TH }

Now, n (A) = 3

∴ P (A) = n (A) / n (S)

= 3 /4

2. Write the equation in standard form:

i] (x + 2) (x + 6) = 0

→ x² (x + 6) + 2(x + 2) = 0

→ x² + 6x + 2x + 2 = 0

x² + 8x + 2 = 0

3. Find the value of determinant

Ans: (5 × 1) - (-3 × -2)

= 5 - 6

= -1

4. Write an A.P. whose first term a = 6 and d = -4

Ans: 6, 2, -2, -6, -10, -14........
