Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Base of a triangle is 9 and height is 5. Base of another triangle is 10 and height is 6.

To find:-

Find the ratio of areas of these triangles.

Solution:-

Base of the first triangle (b1)=9 units

Height of the first triangle (h1)=5 units

Base of the second triangle (b2)=10units

Height of the second triangle (h2)=6 units

Formula:-

If the base 'b' units and height is 'h' units then the area of a triangle is 1/2(bh) sq.units.

Now ,

Area of the first triangle (A1)=(1/2)b1h1 sq.units

=>A1=(1/2)9×5 sq.units

=>A1= 45/2 sq.units...........(1)

Area of the secondtriangle(A2)

=(1/2)b2h2

=>A2=(1/2)10×6 sq.units

=>A2=60/2 sq.units

=>A2=30 sq.units.........(2)

Ratio of their areas =A1:A2

=>A1:A2=45/2:30

=>A1:A2=45:60

=>A1:A2=45/60

=>A1:A2=(3×15)/(4×15)

=>A1:A2=3/4

=>A1:A2=3:4

Answer :-

The ratio of the areas of the two triangles is 3:4
