Solve the following by balance method and by transposing method and verify your answers.
(i) 7x+17=24​

7x + 17 = 24

⇒7x + 17 - 17 = 24 - 17                              [Subtracting 17 from both the sides]                                    

⇒7x = 7

⇒7x ÷ 7 = 7 ÷ 7                                                    [Dividing both the sides by 7]

⇒x = 1

Verification:

LHS = 7(1) + 17

       = 7 + 17

       = 24

       = RHS
