1)-x+3y=8-----------(i)

4x+7y=25----------(ii)

Now multiplying 4 to (i)

-4x+12y=32

eleminating y from i and ii

-4x+12y = 32

4x+7y=25

19y=57

y=3

substitute value of y in equation i

-4x+7(3)=32

-4x+21=32

-4x=32-21

x=-11/4
