Solution :-

Given

 \sf{ \dfrac{1 +x}{x - 3} = 5}

By cross multiplication

 \implies \sf{ (1 + x) = 5.(x - 3)}

 \implies \sf{ 1 + x = 5x - 15}

 \implies \sf { 4x = 16 }

 \implies \sf{ x = 4}

SoluTion:-

 \longmapsto \sf \:  \dfrac{1 + x}{ - 3 +x} = 5

By doing Cross Multiplication :-

 \\    \longmapsto \sf \:(1 + x) = 5( - 3 + x) \\  \\ \longmapsto \sf \:1 + x =  - 15 + 5x \\ \\   \longmapsto \sf \:1 + 15 = 5x - x \\   \\ \longmapsto \sf \:16 = 4x \\  \\  \longmapsto { \underline{ \boxed{ \purple{\sf{ \:x = 4}}}}}
