Answer:

17(2 - x) - 5(x + 12)/1 - 7x = 8

Taking (1 – 7x) to the right hand side

34 – 17x – 5x – 60 = 8 (1 – 7x)

-26 – 22x = 8 – 56x

56x – 22x = 8 + 26

Then following the grouping method of like terms

34x = 34

X = 34/34 = 1

\bf{To~solve:}

\large\tt{~~~~17(2-x)-{\frac{5(x+12)}{1-7x}}=8}

\large\tt{→17(2-x)-5(x+12)=8(1-7x)}

\large\tt{→34-17x-5x-60=8-56x}

\large\tt{→-26-22x=8-56x}

\large\tt{→56x-22x=8+26}

\large\tt{→34x=34}

\large\tt{→x={\frac{34}{34}}}

\large\tt{→x={\underline{\underline{1}}}}
