 \frac{5x}{8}  + 3 =  \frac{1}{2} x + 4 \\  \frac{5x + 24}{8}  =  \frac{x + 8}{2}  \\ by \: cross \: multiplication \\ 2(5x + 24) = 8(x + 8) \\ 10x + 48 = 8x + 64 \\ 10x - 8x = 64 - 48 \\ 2x = 16 \\ x = 8

Hope this will be helpful.

5x/8 +3 =1x/2 + 4

5x/8 -1x/2 = 4-3

5x- 4x/8 =1

X/8 =1

X =1×8

X = 8
