Step-by-step explanation:

(1) \:  \:  \frac{3}{x + 1}  =  \frac{6}{5x - 1}

 =  \frac{3}{x + 1}  -  \frac{6}{5x - 1}  = 0

 = 3(5x  ) - (6(x + 1) = 0

 = 15x - (6x + 6) = 0

 = 15x - 6x - 6 = 0

 = 9x = 6

x =  \frac{6}{9}  =  \frac{2}{3}  = 0.66

Answer:

 \frac{3}{x + 1}  =  \frac{5}{5x - 1} \\ 3(5x - 1) = 5(x + 1) \\ 15x - 3 = 5x + 5 \\ 15x - 5x = 5 + 3 \\ 10x = 8 \\ x =  \frac{8}{10}   \\ x =  \frac{4}{5}  \\ x = 0.8
