Answer:

 \frac{3m}{2}  - 3 = 4 \\  \\  =  \frac{3m - 6}{2}  = 4 \\  \\  = 3m - 6 = 8 \\  \\  = 3m = 14 \\  \\ m =  \frac{14}{3}

ShrutiSharma14: how 14 / 3 is coming
Anonymous: we did cross multiplication here
ShrutiSharma14: and how is = 3m -6 /2 is comming
ShrutiSharma14: how 6 is coming here
Anonymous: so to make the denominator of the number 6 equal by 3m/2, we multiplied it directly by 2
Anonymous: you could check it by taking the denominator of 6 as 1 and then equalising both the denominators by taking out the LCM which is 2

3m

-------- -- 3 = 4

2

Lcm of 1 and 2 = 2

1 × 3m - 2 × 3

----------------------- = 4

2

3m - 6

--------------- = 4 [ Cross multiply ]

2

3m - 6 = 4 × 2

3m - 6 = 8

3m = 8 + 6

3m = 14

m = 14
