solve the following equation 4 x + 13 is equal to 3 X + 15
4x + 13 = 3 \times  + 15

here it goes,

4x + 13 = 3x +15

4x - 3x = 15 - 13

x=2

when a digit comes from left hand side with +sign to right hand side., it changes to -sign and when it travels from right hand side with - sign thn it changes to + sign in the left hand side
