Step-by-step explanation:

5(z+3) = 4(z+1)

5z+15 = 4z+4

5z-4z = 4-15

z = -11

Putting z = -11 in the given equation,

5[(-11)+3] = 4[(-11)+1]

5[-11+3] = 4[-11+1]

5[-8] = 4[-10]

-40 = -40

Since LHS = RHS

Therefore it is proved that z = -11
