a) 9(x-1)=4(x-3)
=>9x-9=4x-12
=>9x-4x= -12+9
=>5x= -3
=>x= -3/5
b)7(x+3)=5(2x-3)
=>7x+21=10x-15
=>7x-10x= -15-21
=> -3x= -36
=> x=36/3
=>x=12
