we have 3(n-1) = 2n-11
=> 3n-3=2n-11
=>n=-11+3
=>n=-8
verification
3(-8-1)=2(-8)-11
=-27=-27
hence n = -8

first multiply by 3


3n - 3 = 2n -11

put 3 in right side and 2 n in left
=> 3n-2n = -11 +3
