 (i) \: \frac{15x}{9}  =  \frac{62}{21}  -  \frac{12}{7}

 \frac{15x}{9}  =  \frac{62 - 36}{21}

 \frac{15x}{9}  =  \frac{26}{21}

x =  \frac{26 \times 9}{21 \times 15}  =  \frac{26}{35}

(ii) \:  \frac{14y}{5}  =  \frac{15}{4}  +  \frac{17}{2}

 \frac{14y}{5}  =  \frac{15 + 34}{4}

 \frac{14y}{5}  =  \frac{49}{4}

y =  \frac{49 \times 5}{4 \times 14}  =  \frac{35}{8}
