Given : (3x - 1)/2  + 2  = (x - 3)/2  + 4

To Find : Value of x and verify

Solution:

(3x - 1)/2  + 2  = (x - 3)/2  + 4

Subtract 2 from both sides

=> (3x - 1)/2  + 2 -2   = (x - 3)/2  + 4 - 2

=> (3x - 1)/2      = (x - 3)/2  +  2

Multiplying both sides by 2

=>  (3x - 1) = (x - 3)  + 4

=> 3x - 1 = x - 3 + 4

=> 3x - 1 = x + 1

adding 1 both sides

=> 3x  =  x + 2

Subtracting x from both sides

=> 2x  = 2

Dividing by 2 on both sides

=> x  = 1

(3x - 1)/2  + 2  = (x - 3)/2  + 4

LHS

= ( 3(1) - 1)/2  + 2  = 2/2  + 2  = 1  + 2  = 3

RHS

= (1 - 3)/2 + 4 = (-2/2) + 4 = - 1 + 4 = 3

LHS = RHS = 3
