Answer:

We have 3x + 5 = 14

Putting x=1 in LHS , we get

3 (1) + 5 = 3 + 5 = 8 ≠ RHS

Putting x = 2 in LHS , we get

3(2)+ 5 =6+5=11≠RHS

Putting x=3 in LHS , we get

3(3)+5 = 9+5=14 = RHS

Here ,x=3 is the solution of the equation 3x + 5 = 14
