Answer:

3(2x+1) + 2(x-1) = 23

*(6x+3) + (2x-2) = 23

*6x+3+2x-2 = 23

*8x+1 = 23

*8x = 23-1

*x = 22/8

*x = 11/4

Answer:

3(2x + 1) + 2( x - 1) = 23 \\ 6x + 3 + 2x - 2 = 23 \\ 8x + 1 = 23 \\ 8x = 22\\ x =  \frac{22}{8}  \\ x =  \frac{11}{4}
