8 - 7( p + 1 ) = 1

Step 1 : Open bracket and multiply all terms by - ( - 1 ) which are in bracket or we can say that sign will be changed,

8 - 7p - 7 = 1

Step 2 : combining like and unlike terms ,

8 - 7 - 7p = 1

Step 3 : subtract the numbers .

1 - 7p = 1

Step 4 : Add - 1 on both sides.

1 - 1 - 7p = 1 - 1

=> - 7p  = - 0

Step 5 : Divide by - 7 on both sides,

( - 7p ) / ( - 7 ) = ( 0 ) / ( - 7 )

p = 0 / 7 which is equal  to 0 .

Hence, value of p is 0
