Answer:

(x-1)/3-1/4(x-2)=2

LCM is 12(x-2)

=> 4(x-1)(x-2) - 3 = 24(x-2)

=> 4(x^2 - x - 2x + 2) - 3 = 24x - 48

=> 4(x^2 - 3x + 2) - 3 = 24x - 48

=> 4x^2 - 12x + 8 - 3 = 24x - 48

=> 4x^2 - 12x - 24x + 8 - 3 + 48 = 0

=> 4x^2 - 36x + 53 = 0

solution of Quadratic equation

ax^2 + bx + c=0

x = {- b (+-) √b^2 - 4ac}/2a

=> x = {- (-36) (+-) √(36^2 - 4*4*53)}/2*4

=> x = { 36 (+-) √(36^2 - 4*4*53)}/8

=> x = { 36 (+-) √(448)}/8

=> x = { 36 (+-) 8√(7)}/8

=> x = { 9/2 (+-) √7}
