\frac{2x}{3}  =  \frac{3x}{4}  +  \frac{7}{12}  \\  \frac{2x}{3}  -  \frac{3x}{4}  =  \frac{7}{12}  \\  \frac{(8x - 9x)}{12}  =  \frac{7}{12}  \\  \frac{ - x}{12} =  \frac{7}{12}   \\ x =  \frac{7}{12} \times ( - 12) \\ x =  - 7
