Solve the following equations:

1) 14y - 8 = 13
2) 17 + 6p = 9
3) \frac{x}{3}  + 1 =  \frac{7}{15}

14y= 21
y= 21/14
y=3/2

2) 6p= 9-17
6p= -8
p= -8/6
p= -4/3

= 14y = 13 +8 
=14y = 21
y = 21 /14 

2] 17 + 6p = 9 
6p = 9 -17
6p = -8 
p =-8 / 6
= -4 / 3 

3]x / 3 +1 = 7/ 15 
x + 3 / 3 = 7 / 15 
x + 3 = 7 / 15 X 3 
x + 3 = 7 / 5 
x = 7 /5 -3 
x = -8 /5
