⚡Solve the following equations ⚡

1. Expand and simplify the algebraic expression (x + 3)(x - 3) - (-x - 9)

2. Which property is used to write a(x + y) = a x + a y

3. Simplify ( 8 x3 ) / ( 2 x-3)

4. Simplify (-a2b3)2(c2)0

5. For what value of k is the point (-2, k) on the line with equation -3 x + 3 y = 4?

\huge{\underline{\underline{\mathfrak{\purple{answer}}}}}

-3x + 3y = 4

let x = ( -2 ) and y = k

=> -3 × ( -2 ) + 3 × ( k ) = 4

=> 6 + 3k = 4

=> 3k = 4 - 6

=> 3k = -2

=> k = -2/3

(x + 3)(x - 3) - ( - x - 9) \\  \\  =  {x}^{2}  - 3x + 3x - 9  + (x - 9) \\  \\  =  {x}^{2}  - 9 + x - 9 \\  \\  =  {x}^{2}  + x - 18

The property illustrated by the equation ax + ay = a(x + y) is the distributive property of equality.
