Given: (2y-3)/5 + (y+3)/4 = (4y+1)/ 7

To Find: The value of y

Solution:

Taking LHS,

= (2y-3)/5 + (y+3)/4

= [4(2y-3)] + [ 5 (y+3)]/ 20

= (8y- 12 + 5y + 15) / 20

= (13y + 3)/20

Equating LHS and RHS

(13y +3) / 20 = (4y+1) /7

Taking 20 and 7 to other sides

7(13y+3) = 20( 4y+1)

91y + 21 = 80y + 20

91y- 80y = 20 - 21

11y = -1

y = - 1 / 11

The solution to this problem is - 1/11
