Step-by-step explanation:
Solution :-
a) Given equation is 9(6 - X) - 36 = 9(6 + x)
=> 54 - 9X -36 = 54 + 9X
(Removing brackets )
=> 18-9X = 54+9X
=> -9X-9X = 54-18
(Transposing 9X to LHS and 18 to RHS)
=> -18X = 36
=> X = 36/-18
(Transposing 18 to RHS )
=> X = -2
Therefore, The solution is -2
b)Given equation is 3(1+ y) + 7(3 + y) = 11y
=> 3+3y + 21+7y = 11y
(Removing brackets )
=> 10y+24 = 11y
=> 10y -11y = 24
(Transposing 11y to LHS)
=> -y = 24
=> y = -24
(multiplying with -1)
Therefore, y = -24
The solution is -24
