Answer:

x = 2, y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Equations are :

62x + 37y = 13     ----- (1)

37x + 62y = -122    ----- (2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get

62x + 37y - 37x - 62y = 13 + 122

=> 25x - 25y = 135

It cannot be solved.

-----------------------------------------------------

Given Equations should be,

62x + 37y = 13    ----- (1)

37x + 62y = -112    ------ (2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get

62x + 37y - 37x - 62y = 13 + 112

=> 25x - 25y = 125

=> x - y = 5

Adding (1) and (2), we get

62x + 37y + 37x + 62y = 13 - 112

=> 99x + 99y = -99

=> x + y = -1

Now,

Solve both the equations.

x - y = 5

x + y = -1

-----------------

2x = 4

x = 2

Place x = 2 in above equation.

x - y = 5

2 - y = 5

y = 3

Therefore,

x = 2 and y = 3

Hope it helps!
