1) 9x = 17+1 = 18

x = 18/9 = 2

2) 4x-2x = 7+5

2x = 12

x = 12/2 = 6

3) 3x - 6 = 4x + 1 ....( first solve the bracket them you'll get 3x - 6 )

-6-1 = 4x - 3x

-7 = x

so x = -7

4) Multiply the eqn by 3 , you'll get

3* x/3 - 1*3 = -5 *3

x - 3 = -15

x = -15 + 3

x = -12
