Solve the following equations. X/3 -3= x/5​

Given :

$\frac{x}{3} - 3 = \frac{x}{5}$

To find :

the value of x

Solution :

$⟹ \frac{x}{3} - 3 = \frac{x}{5}$

$⟹ \frac{x}{3} - \frac{x}{5} = 3$

LCM of 3 and 5 = 15

$⟹ \frac{5x - 3x}{15} = 3$

$⟹ \frac{2x}{15} = 3$

$⟹ 2x = 3 \times 15$

$⟹ 2x = 45$

$⟹ x = \frac{45}{2}$

Answer :-

$\frac{45}{2}$

Verification :-

To verify the answer put x = 45/2 in:-

$⟹\frac{x}{3} - 3 = \frac{x}{5}$

$Now \: LHS = \frac{x}{3} - 3$

put x = 45/2

$⟹LHS = \frac{45}{2 \times 3} - 3$

$⟹LHS = \frac{45}{6} - 3$

LCM of 6 and 1 = 6

$⟹LHS = \frac{45 - 18}{6}$

$⟹LHS = \frac{27}{6}$

$⟹LHS = \frac{9}{2}$

$Now \: RHS = \frac{x}{5}$

put x = 45/2

$⟹RHS = \frac{45}{2 \times 5}$

$⟹RHS = \frac{9}{2}$

Therefore RHS = LHS. Hence verified.
