 \frac{x + 6}{x}  =  \frac{x  + 5}{x + 2}

Cross multiplying

(x + 6)(x + 2) = x(x + 5)

 {x}^{2}  + 2x + 6x + 12 =  {x}^{2}  + 5x

 {x}^{2}  + 8x + 12 =  {x}^{2}  + 5x

cancelling x² from both sides,

8x + 12 = 5x

8x - 5x = 12

3x = 12

x =  \frac{12}{3}

x = 4.
