Hi there!

 \frac{5x + 1}{2x}  =  \frac{ - 1}{3} \\  \\ 3(5x + 1) = -  2x  \\  \\ 15x + 3 =  - 2x \\  \\ 15x + 2x =  - 3 \\  \\ 17x =  - 3 \\  \\ x =  \frac{ - 3}{17}

You can put this value in that equation,it will satify.

5x+1/2x = 5(-3/17)+1/2(-3/17)3

-15+17 by 17/-6/17

= -1/3 = R.H.S

Thankyou :)
