Solve the following in-equation, write the solution set and represent it on the number line. x-5 < -2;x∈n ​

The solution set will be 1≤x<3; x∈n

  • Calculating solution set:

           Step-1:   x - 5 < -2

                         ⇒  x - 5 + 5 < -2 + 5  (on both sides adding +5 )

                          ⇒ x < 3.......(i)

            Step-2: x ∈ n where n = natural number

                         All the positive integers are known as natural number.

                         So natural numbers start from 1 to ∞.

                         x ≥ 1.............(ii)

           From (i) and (ii) we can write, 1 ≤ x < 3 ; x ∈ n
