Solve the following numericals. Write Formula , steps and Units for all the questions

A force of 100 N is applied on an area of 4 m2. Compute pressure being applied on the area.

A force of 200 N is applied to an object of area 2 sq. m. Calculate the pressure.
Two boys exert force of 40 N and 60 N in opposite direction on an object. What will be the resultant force ?

A box weighing 2 kg exerts a force of 20 N on the ground. The box covers an area of 2 sq. m on the ground. Calculate the pressure. exerted by the box on the ground .

Answer:

ans 1 - Given, froce=100N

and area=4m2

∴pressure= area/force = 100n/4m2 = 25Pa

ans 2 - pressure = froce/area = 200n/2m2 = 100pa

ans 3 - let the force exerted by boy one be positive and boy to be negitive

net force = 40-60 = 20N

ans 4 - Force exerted = 20 N

Area = 2 sq. m

Pressure = Force / Area

P = (20 / 2) Pa

Pressure = 10 Pa
