then 1/2 a+1/3 b=2

= 3a+2b/6=2

=3a+2b=12...........1

& 1/3 a + 1/2 b =13/6

=2a+3b/6 =13/6

=2a+3b =13...........2

now (eq1×2) - eq 2 ×3

6a+4b -6a-9b=24-39

-5b=-15

=b=3

from eq1 we have

3a+2×3=12

=3a=12-6

=3a=6

=a=2

but 1/x =a

1/x=2

=x =1/2

again 1/y =3

y=1/3
