2x + 3y=8

=>2x=8-3y

=>x=4-3/2y -(i)

substitute the value of x on (i) in equation 2

4x + 6y = 12

=>4(4-3/2y)=12

=>16 - 6y= 12

=>6y=16-12

=>y=4/6

=>y=2/3

substitute value of y in equation 1

2x+3y=8

2x+3×2/3=8

2x=8-2

x=6/2=3

x=3 y=2/3
